About Me

The Digital Technologies curriculum and Digital Literacy General Capability are daunting for many teachers. A misconception that students are “Digital Natives” and are entering schooling with the relevant skills in these areas has further contributed to schools not investing in upskilling their staff in these areas. The truth is starkly different with less than 50% of year 10 students meeting “proficiency” in digital literacy.

As a relatively new area in the curriculum, many teachers did not receive training in the technical, content and pedagogical knowledge of Digital Technologies as part of their initial teacher education. Further, as an emerging area the instruction from our teacher training institutions is often inconsistent in what is offered.

My experience as a teacher, IT professional and working for an edtech organisation have given me a unique perspective to deliver these services.
